About Katie

Katie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and has been in the field since 2013.  Katie believes that counseling is one of the healthiest activities a person can do for themselves, but understands that it can be one of the hardest to commit to. Together, she and the client create individualized goals that may be challenging, but are often necessary to make progress. Her clients can expect a direct, yet respectful approach that allows them to safely explore their health and wellness without feeling the outside pressures or judgement many often face.

She spends much of her time working with adults and couples at various stages in their life; helping them explore relationship patterns, healthy boundaries, and experiences from their past that may be contributing to conflict. Katie believes that we all desire connections with others, but often life experiences complicate this. With self-exploration, psycho-education, and the right support, clients are able to experience and enjoy a healthier life.

Katie is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), completing extensive training in treating trauma, specifically the neurobiological legacy of trauma.  Trauma can occur at any stage of life and it is important to understand how it may be impacting your life now and what one can do to overcome any negative impacts.  Katie uses curiosity, empathy, and acceptance as a way to explore and reframe trauma.

Katie has spent several years providing support to other therapists seeking their clinical license through one-on-one and group supervision. When the need arises, Katie enjoys hosting small group sessions on various topics including Codependency, Self-Esteem, Healthy Relationships, Stress and Anxiety, among others.

Katie owns and operates her own private practice in Edwardsville, IL.  Her office is located in a small, professional office building that provides a welcoming and private atmosphere.

In her free time Katie enjoys traveling to national parks and hiking with her family.  Some of her favorite hikes include:  Angels Landing and The Narrows at Zion National Park, Bryce Cannon, as well as Devils Bridge and Cathedral Rock in Sedona.
